Farmers Will Sacrifice Bees For Money - Sept 11, 2014

If you are concerned about the effect that Neonicotinoid pesticides are having on our bee population read this article in the Guardian. I find it difficult to understand farmers like Guy Smith, vice president of the National Farmers Union, when he says: “It is very frustrating that it was not possible for a decision to be made in time for Syngenta to prepare seeds for this year’s planting. This loss of this treatment will make it more complicated to grow oilseed rape this season.” He said the issue had been “heavily politicised” by campaign groups with their “own agenda against pesticide use”. The difficulty I have is that he doesn’t seem to understand that he too has an ‘Agenda’ as does the manufacturer and the company supplying the seeds. Yes Guy Smith we all have our agendas, mostly we would like to be able to continue to live on this planet without having it polluted by chemicals that create harm for motives that are purely profit motivated. It is time Guy to take a breath and realize you are not the only group with concerns on the planet and that your agenda does not supersede the agenda of the rest of humanity.
